Policy 4:63
Quality Purchasing
Standardization of Supplies and Equipment
To help achieve both quality control and the price advantage of quality purchasing, the administration is encouraged to:
- cooperate with municipalities and schools in joint purchasing;
- set specifications for goods and services as needed;
- cite as examples several existing, commercially available “standard brands” that meet specifications acceptably; and
- invite vendors to bid on those examples, or comparable ones which
the vendors believe to be acceptable according to the specifications.
