Policy 2:270

Board of Education

Formulation of Policies

The Board of Education shall formulate written policies to govern the operation of the School District.

The formulation, adoption, and monitoring of these written policies shall constitute the basic method by which the Board shall exercise its leadership in the operation of the school system.

It shall be the policy goal of the Board in accordance with state and federal requirements to ensure equivalence among attendance centers in teachers, administrators, auxiliary personnel, curriculum materials and instructional supplies within reasonably identifiable differences which exist among academic disciplines and grade levels.

The formal adoption of policies shall be recorded in the minutes of the Board of Education, and the policies shall then be incorporated in the policy manual. Only those written statements so adopted and so recorded shall be regarded as official Board policy.

The Board Policy Manual shall be reviewed every four (4) years for compliance.
