McKenzie School is located at 649 Prairie Avenue, at the corner of Prairie and Central, in Wilmette, IL. Formerly Logan School, we have existed at this site since 1950. A myriad of remodeling projects over recent years has helped McKenzie maintain a safe, modern, and inviting
environment conducive to 21^st century teaching and learning.

McKenzie School uses a whole child approach in addressing the academic, physical, and social-emotional needs of its students. McKenzie’s students continue to demonstrate academic excellence as a result of differentiated instruction that is enriched by technology and the arts. McKenzie staff members are continuous learners, participating in ongoing professional development, collaborative planning, and the pursuit of additional certifications and degrees.

The Second Step Curriculum provides a common language and consistent framework for teaching the social-emotional competencies that promote academic and life-long success. Social responsibility is taught by engaging students in a variety of community and service learning projects throughout the year.

Strong home-school partnerships serve as the cornerstone of McKenzie’s success. A supportive PTA provides service to our school in the form of enrichment, fundraising, and fellowship. School tours, conducted by the PTA Welcoming Committee, can be arranged by calling the school office for an appointment. When visiting McKenzie, please use the Prairie Avenue entrance and register in the main office.
