Meeting Information

Members of the public are invited to attend Board of Education meetings, which are generally held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7 P.M. at the Mikaelian Education Center, 615 Locust Road, Wilmette, and are live-streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel. Meeting recordings are archived and available from the Meeting Recording Archive page on our site.

In-person attendance at Board of Education meetings will be limited to not more than 10 people from the general public in order to adhere to the maximum group size capacity and the required social distancing requirements. Individuals attending in-person may address the Board during the Public Comment portion of the meeting. Any person entering the facility in-person should register in advance using the link provided on the meeting agenda, and must sign-in upon arrival, wear a face mask, maintain social distancing and not be experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

Providing Written Communication to the Board of Education

Any written communication submitted via email to the Board or to [email protected] will be provided directly to the Board of Education in its written format. These communications will also be listed on the Board Agenda under the Written Communications portion of the agenda in accordance with Board Policy 2:140. Written Communication submitted to the Board of Education will not be read out loud during the meeting.

Providing Public Comment during Board of Education Meetings

The Board invites and encourages public participation at their Board meetings. To accommodate this participation in real-time during the in-person attendance restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the District will be using Zoom webinar to facilitate this process. If you wish to provide public comment to the Board of Education using Zoom, please register using the link on the meeting agenda. A confirmation email including a participation link will be sent to the email address you provide in your registration. During the Public Comment portion of the meeting, the Board President will call for public comment in accordance with the posted meeting agenda. At that time, those who are attending in-person will be invited to participate followed by those who have registered to participate virtually via Zoom. Registered virtual participants will be invited to “raise your hand” in Zoom if you wish to provide a public comment. Each participant will then be let into the meeting as a Zoom Panelist where they will be asked to unmute and turn on their video in order to provide public comment. Please make sure your background is free of distractions, appropriate for a public forum and that you are in a quiet location. Each participant will be provided three minutes for public comment by Board directive and in accordance with Board Policy 2:230. After comment, each participant will be placed back as a Meeting Attendee where they may continue to watch the remainder of the meeting or leave Zoom to continue watching live on YouTube.
