AUGUST 1, 2016 UPDATE
All bus routes and stops are set for the 2016-17 school year. If you registered by the July 1st deadline, you should receive your child’s bus pass with information on their route and stop by August 12th. If you registered after the July 1st deadline, you will be notified only if you are placed on a wait list. Otherwise, watch for your pass in the mail.
If you have not yet registered your child, but would like them to ride the bus, please contact the transportation department to determine if there will be a possibility of accommodating your child.
Michelle McGregor, Transportation Liaison
Effective and efficient transportation systems affect everyone. Students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and school board members all take an active role in helping provide a safe and reliable school transportation system. The student transportation for Wilmette School District 39 is designed to offer safe, reliable, efficient, and economical service so students can devote their full attention to learning and growing.
By working together we can all help provide safe transportation for students.
Transportation fees for the 2016-17 school year will remain at $495.00 per rider for round-trip and $275.00 per rider for one-way transportation for registrations received by July 1st.
Any registration received after July 1st will be assessed a late fee- $100 for round trip and $50 for one-way. New move-in families will not be charged a late fee. Registrations will be accepted only if space is available. If space is not available, students will be placed on a wait list for the appropriate route.
Any registration received after July 1st will be accepted only if space is available. If space is not available, students will be placed on a wait list for the appropriate route. The $100/$50 late fee noted above will be charged.
Any students signing up after July 1st will be assigned to an existing route and stop. Additional changes or additions to bus routes cannot take place until September 26, 2016. As in past years, students will receive route information and their bus pass in the mail before school begins in August.
You can find all updated transportation information in the District 39 Transportation Handbook. You are encouraged to carefully review the handbook and will acknowledge that you have done so by completing bus registration.
